Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy Announces Formation of Advisory Committees

At a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, Inc., the Conservancy announced the formation of two advisory committees to the Board of Directors: Operations & Maintenance, and Programs & Events.

The Operations & Maintenance Committee, which will be chaired by Brad Griffith, President of Griffith Properties, is charged with budget and planning for maintaining the parks to a high standard of excellence, and for making recommendations about future capital projects in the parks.

In addition to Mr. Griffith, members of the committee include Nancy Caruso, Professor Emerita, Northeastern University and Chair of the North End Central Artery Advisory Committee; Barbara Manning, Regional Administrator, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services; Sy Mintz, President, Mintz Associates Architects/Planners, Inc.; and Fred Yalouris, Director of Architecture and Urban Design for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. Rick Sullivan, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, and Toni Pollak, Commissioner of Parks and Recreation for the City of Boston, serve as ex officio members of the committee.

The Program & Events Committee is charged with planning for programs and events on the Greenway and working collaboratively with the City of Boston in their operation. Members of the committee include Julie Burns, Director, Mayor's Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events; Pamela Donnaruma, Publisher and Editor of the Italian-American publication The Post-Gazette; Stephanie Fan, Co-Chair of the Chinatown/Leather District Advisory Committee and a member of the Mayor's Central Artery Completion Task Force. Toni Pollak, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Boston, serves as an ex officio member of the committee. Volunteer members include Bud Ris, President of the New England Aquarium; Chris Colbert, Managing Partner and Chief Marketing Officer, Holland-Mark; Chris Fincham; and Keith Shirley.

Both committees were formed in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement which created the Conservancy. Committee members were appointed by the Conservancy's Board of Directors, in consultation with Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Massachusetts Turnpike Authority Chairman Matthew Amorello, the public parties to the Memorandum of Agreement.
