Looking for a good weekend outing? Bring the family downtown! We're proud to partner with some fabulous neighboring organizations on a series of Downtown Playdates. Come on down for some fun, family-friendly activities each Saturday from July 22nd through September 16. For specifics offerings from our partners, read on! All activities are free-of-charge unless otherwise noted.
The Greenway parks offer a variety of activities to do with your family and are the perfect pathway on your journey to and from our partner sites. Join us for a break, a bite, a spin, and a splash!
The Greenway Carousel at the Tiffany & Co. Foundation Grove is open every Saturday from 11am-9pm all summer long. ($3/ride)
The Z - Boston Zipline is open every Saturday from 11am-9pm all summer long. ($8/ride)
Our seven water features are perfect for cooling off on those hot days.
Downtown Playdates Kick-Off July 22
Join us at The Greenway Carousel to kick off the Downtown Playdates series! We'll have games, our unique play equipment and a puppet making workshop!

Rosalita's Puppets will charm kids and adults with new productions each week. Find the show at 10:30am on South Market Street (outside Wagamama). Rosalita's Puppets will move inside to the Rotunda in case of rain.
Chess lessons teach important ideas and themes to players of all skill levels. Find a chess instructor at 3pm on South Market Street (outside Uniqlo).
Ping pong, pool, and board games are free-to-borrow from 10am - 7pm daily. Find the Games Cart on North Market Street (outside Dick's Last Resort).
Art supplies, including crayons and paper for the smallest visitors, are free-to-borrow from 10am - 7pm daily. Find our Art Cart on South Market Street (outside Cheers).
In case of rain, chess lessons, games and art supplies do not occur.

There is plenty to do at the beloved Boston Children's Museum. Located a 4 minute walk from The Greenway's Fort Point Channel parks, the museum offers fun for kids of all ages.

The summer is here, let's play outside! But also be mindful about sun-safety. Enjoy outdoor games, learn about the effect of UV rays, and ask questions about how to be safe in the sun in order to be prepared for all the outdoor summertime fun!
Guided Kyo-No-Mchiya Tours July 29
Guided Visits of Kyo-no-Machiya - 15 minutes Tours of An Authentic Historic House from Kyoto, Japan! The Japanese House exhibit, also called Kyo no Machiya, at Boston Children’s Museum is a well-preserved machiya, a traditional urban house from Kyoto, Japan. Japanese House has limited hours. Please check the Boston Children's Museum calendar for the specific hours on the day of your visit.
Zumba Kids August 5, September 2
Kids and adults join in a short family friendly zumba class! Zumba is a dance fitness program that incorporates dance, exercise and fitness from many styles including cumbia, salsa, merengue, reggaeton and tango.

What do milk, salt, food coloring and straws have in common? They're all kept in the kitchen and they're all great for doing science experiments! Join in to mix, build, predict and experiment.

Drop in to BSA Space for a LEGO Challenge series using their extensive collection of LEGO Bricks. Each week participants will be presented with a different design challenge, for example: creating the tallest tower, re-imagining a Boston neighborhood, designing a product that solves a challenge you face every day, or brainstorming ways to make buildings resilient to sea level rise. Brainstorm with the gallery team to envision the future using your favorite design tool.

Kids in The KITCHEN July 22 & 29, August 12 & 26, September 9 ($9/members, $15/non-members)
Join the fun in The KITCHEN for a series of cooking classes for kids ages 6-12 to learn about local food and the journey it makes from the farm to the table. In these hands-on classes, kids explore and taste the seasonal bounty of the region through the local vendors of the Boston Public Market.
