CANCELED: Annual Reconfiguration of the Abstract Sculpture

“In view of the recent accident at the construction site in Boston an Executive Decision has been made to cancel the reconfiguration of the Abstract Sculpture scheduled for this Sunday (4/3/22). There are no details for rescheduling at this time.”

The Abstract Sculpture at Armenian Heritage Park, a split rhomboid dodecahedron, commemorates the immigrant experience. Annually, the Abstract Sculpture is reconfigured, symbolic of all who pulled away from their country of origin or were forced to pull away and came to these Massachusetts shores, establishing themselves in new and different ways.

In early Spring, a crane lifts, pulls apart and reconfigures the two halves of the split rhomboid dodecahedron, made of stainless steel and aluminum, to create a new sculptural shape, symbolic of a new life.
