Lantern Stories by Yu-Wen Wu: From Community to Creation

Join the Greenway Conservancy for a conversation on Lantern Stories, the upcoming public art project for Boston’s Chinatown by artist Yu-Wen Wu. Greenway Conservancy Public Art Project Manager, Sheila Novak, will moderate a lively conversation engaging Chinatown leaders, community members, and artist Yu-Wen Wu. The panel will explore Yu-Wen’s process in creating this artwork from her community input phase, including site visits, interviews, and this past February’s Community Engagement Session, to the conceptualization and fabrication of this public artwork. Additionally, the panel will discuss how the Chinatown community has engaged in placekeeping efforts historically and how Yu-Wen seeks to represent the community in her artwork, especially in light of the current moment.

  • Jeena Hah, Programs Manager, Asian Community Development Corporation
