Event Planning Form

Thank you for your interest in planning an event on The Greenway. Please fill out the form below to propose your event. Applications should be submitted at least 30 days prior to the proposed event date; event proposals submitted less than 30 days prior to the proposed event date may be charged an additional $50-$100 late application fee. Before completing, please review our Park Use Guidelines for more information on park infrastructure, capacity, rules and regulations.

We strive to curate the best possible programs and events for The Greenway, so please note that the application process can take up to 10 business days during our peak season, April – September. After reviewing your application, The Greenway Programs Team will schedule an initial phone call to discuss your application and next steps. The Sampling & Promotional rental fee structure is outlined in our Park Use Guidelines.

Additional permitting is required for all movie screenings. Amplified sound cannot exceed 70 decibels, as per the City of Boston Sound Ordinance.

The Conservancy limits the number of private and/or ticketed events each season. For more information refer to Section III A of the Park Use Guidelines.






The Conservancy may not be able to accommodate events occurring on holidays or holiday weekends. Events occurring in less than 30 days may be declined or charged a $50 late application fee.

Load-in must occur during park hours. If materials are left on-site overnight, private security hired at your expense may be required.

A run of show document details when each part of your event happens and who is responsible for making it happen. Please include as much detail as your currently have, realizing your event may be early in the planning process.






This attached map shows the cross street intersections and plaza names throughout the park for your reference as well as lawn configurations and key park features.










Please note that signage may not be tied or attached to park infrastructure.



If there will be cooking on-site please note the cooking method: Gas, Electric, Charcoal, Other.


On-site vehicles require Conservancy approval. If there will be vehicles on-site please note that we will need a Certificate of Insurance showing Auto Liability insurance.

An event layout shows the placement of infrastructure to include tables, tents, staging etc. Please note that we only allow very limited infrastructure on lawns. We will work with you on a final layout for your event.

Is fundraising the main goal of this event? Please note that fundraising is rarely permissible on The Greenway, especially for fundraising-specific events. The Greenway Conservancy is a non-profit and per our Park Use Guidelines, we are only allowed to host four fundraisers on The Greenway a year, limited to benefitting the Conservancy.


Please note that the Conservancy currently hosts a beer garden in our park. Applicants looking to serve or sample alcohol may be limited in the dates and locations they can operate on The Greenway.

Please note that having a sponsor onsite will trigger additional fees.

Production level includes planning time, infrastructure, electrical needs, scale of event, etc.

An application fee is required for all event applications. If you are unsure which fee to pay, please select the “Invoice” option below and we will confirm the correct amount and invoice you after we have reviewed your application.
