Individual Volunteer Project

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy; we hope you will join us in the park this year!

Where: Projects take place on The Greenway from Chinatown to the North End. Exact location varies based on the project needs and will be provided prior to the event.

Logistics: Volunteers generally help us with light gardening tasks such as weeding, raking and pruning. We ask that all volunteers arrive on time and ready to work with closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing that can get dirty. All volunteers are asked to sign a waiver prior to beginning the project, and we will provide gloves, tools, water and a snack!

Health and Safety: Greenway volunteer groups must follow our COVID-19 safety guidelines, found on the volunteer webpage, which are updated as needed. We closely monitor and comply with guidelines from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boston in planning for volunteer safety. All volunteers must wear masks for the duration of the project and must certify their health by completing this form on the morning of their volunteer project. We are so pleased to be able to offer these safe opportunities for small groups of individuals to give back to their community.

Registering: Contact the Volunteer and Program Coordinator at volunteer@rosekennedygreenway.org with the dates that you would like to volunteer and we will confirm availability. The project location, meeting point and any rescheduling due to weather are communicated via email in the week leading up to the project.
