Street Stage by Boston Lyric Opera

Presented by Boston Lyric Opera in partnership with The Rose Kennedy Greenway, BLO brings its Street Stage to the Rowes Wharf Plaza on Saturday, May 1 at 12:30 PM for a free outdoor live performances.

This special performance will be the World Premiere of Boston Lyric Opera’s new initiative, Poetry in Music. Poetry in Music brings together the work of prominent local poets and opera composers to create entirely new musical works and artistic experiences, presented in collaboration with the City of Boston.

The first Poetry in Music performance will debut with the song cycle “my name is Alondra”, featuring poems by City of Boston Youth Poet Laureate Alondra Bobadilla set to music by tenor and BLO Emerging Artist Composer Omar Najmi. BLO Emerging Artist Zaray Rodriguez and pianist Brendon Shapiro, an Emerging Artist alumnus, will perform the song cycle.

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the performance to allow time to check in. All attendees will be asked to fill out an Individual Health Self-Assessment Form prior to entrance. Masks required for all attendees over the age of two (2).

Reservations are Required.

FREE, with a $5 refundable deposit at registration. Deposit will be refunded upon attendance or advance cancellation. No-shows will not be refunded.
