National Public Lands Day on the Greenway

30, Sep, 2013 Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy

Our thanks to the seventy volunteers who came out and worked with us on Saturday, September 28th as part of the annual National Public Lands Day, which draws hundreds of thousands of volunteers to parks nationwide on the fourth Saturday in September each year.

We gathered just before 9 am on the lawn just south of the Boston Harbor Islands Pavilion to sign-in, enjoy breakfast treats donated by North End Park neighbor Bread+Butter, hear welcome remarks from Jesse our COO and instructions from Jessica our volunteer coordinator, and then split into smaller groups to proceed to work sites.

The work that the volunteers was varied – including….

re-installing steel edging and pavers along the Mother’s Walk…
