The Greenway Carousel will be FREE on Tuesday, March 31 from 12 PM to 9 PM, in celebration of the beginning of Autism Acceptance Month!
This special day is all about highlighting the Greenway Carousel as a welcoming, accessible experience for all. Designed with universal access in mind, the Carousel thoughtfully supports riders of a wide range of physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities, so that all who would like to ride are able to enjoy.
Accessible features include:
🦽 Ramp access (stored beneath the carousel) for easy boarding
🦭 Wheelchair-accessible harbor seal chariot with securements
🐇 Clearly identifiable non-moving “stander” ride (rabbit with a large orange carrot)
🦅 Textured ride elements (fur/feathers) for sensory-friendly tactile experiences
🎵 Ability to turn off lights and music upon request
🪑 Bench-style seating options for riders needing alternative options
