Greenway Conservancy & Studio Echelman Announce Photography Contest
As If It Were Already Here Photo Contest Rules
The Greenway and Studio Echelman are sponsoring a photography contest of As If It Were Already Here, Janet Echelman’s monumental aerial sculpture over The Greenway’s Fort Point Channel Park. Submit your photos according to the rules below and you could be eligible to win up to $1,000!
As If It Were Already Here has easily become the most photographed – and Instagrammed – piece of public art in Boston in several years. We are now hoping to feature the ‘Best of the Best’ pictures of this stunning sculpture.
Read below for the contest rules. Note: Anyone who submits to the contest agrees to allow The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy and Studio Echelman a non-exclusive, royalty-free right in perpetuity to use the submitted photograph.

HOW TO ENTER
No later than 11:59pm (ET) on Wednesday, October 7, 2015:
- PREFERRED: Submit the high-res file (largest file size possible less than 8MB; no smaller than 1MB; suggested dpi of 300; WeTransfer recommended) to [email protected] with the name of photographer to be credited; OR
- Post your photo of As If It Were Already Here on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, tagging with both #GreenwayArt and #contest
To be eligible, a photograph must have been shot by the entrant since May 3, 2015.
Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.
High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible. Photographs must be in a .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format. Files submitted may not be larger than 10 MB.
You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the contest, you grant The Greenway Conservancy and Studio Echelman a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any Greenway or Studio Echelman purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of The Greenway or Studio Echelman, their websites, exhibition of As If It Were Already Here, and commercial products, including but not limited to Greenway or Studio Echelman publications. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit. The Greenway and Studio Echelman will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
TERM
The Photo Contest begins Thursday, August 27, 2015, and ends Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest.

WHO MAY ENTER
The Photo Contest is open to anyone who is 18 years old or older by Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Employees of The Greenway Conservancy or Studio Echelman and their immediate families (children, siblings and spouses) are not eligible for any prize. The Greenway will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion.

JUDGING
Winning photos will be selected by Studio Echelman and the Greenway Conservancy in their sole judgment and announced on Tuesday, October 13. Please do not contact us about the status of entries or judging.
Finalists will be named and notified of their status by Monday, October 12 and will appear on The Greenway website and/or social media accounts.
One “Grand Prize Winner” will be selected and receive $1,000 (payable by 12/31/15 by Studio Echelman) and will be featured on both The Greenway and Studio Echelman websites.
One “Second Place Winner” will be selected and receive a Greenway Mothers Walk paver ($500 value; certificate delivered by 12/1/2015 & installed in spring 2016)
One “Third Place Winner” will be selected and receive a Greenway Grab Bag, with a reusable Greenway grocery bag, 20 tickets for free rides on the Greenway Carousel, a framed picture of As If It Were Already Here, and other Greenway items ($125 value; delivered by 12/1/2015)
A to-be-determined number of “Honorable Mentions” will be selected and receive recognition on The Greenway website and/or social media accounts.
The Greenway will notify the winner via the contact information provided at the time of entry; The Greenway may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within five business days.
