Lighting and Pathways Community Update

As we look ahead to summer on The Greenway, we wanted to share a quick update with our community and neighbors on the timeline for the refreshed parcels in the Fort Point Channel area. These improvements are now anticipated to be completed in early to mid-summer, with work expected to wrap up this coming June. We’re grateful for your patience as this project continues, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back into these spaces very soon.

This summer, visitors will enjoy brighter, more accessible pathways, enhanced in-park lighting for evening use, and new seating areas designed for gathering and relaxation. These upgrades will make it easier to move through the park, extend the hours people can experience the park space, and create new opportunities for connection—whether you’re stopping by for lunch, meeting friends, or taking in the city at dusk.

This summer will also bring new energy to The Greenway in more ways than one. We’re thrilled to welcome new partners to the park, including our new beverage garden partner, Boston Harbor Distillery, expanded food truck offerings, and new fitness instructors joining our free programming lineup. With Boston preparing to host global events like the FIFA World Cup, Tall Ships, and the Mass 250 commemoration, we’re looking forward to a vibrant, celebratory season on The Greenway—made even better by these long-awaited improvements.
