Meet our 2019 Greenway Interns!
Will Palauskas
Outreach Intern
Will is a rising junior at Emerson College where he is studying Marketing Communication with a minor in Environmental Studies. He is the President of Emerson Green Collective, an environmental advocacy organization at his college. Will also was one of the first riders of the Greenway Carousel when it was first installed, the carousel creatures handmade by his great-uncle Jeffrey Briggs!
Mandy Yao
Outreach Intern
Mandy is a rising senior at Boston University where she studies Physical Therapy and serves as a Co-Creative Chair for alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc. She has worked at Boston City Hall, the John F. Kennedy Family Service Center, and the Royal Free Hospital in London. This summer, she hopes to help beautify Boston and give back to her community.
Grace Ledgard
Horticulture Intern
Grace recently received a B.S. in Environmental Science from Colby, Sawyer College where she completed her Senior Capstone project on comparing the effects of different biochar substrates on the growth of sugar snap peas. Grace’s past experiences have included greenhouse work for a NH farm as well as serving as a camp counselor for the past 4 summers with Mass Audubon teaching young people about sustainability and the ecology of New England.
Adam Banks
Horticulture Intern
Adam is heading into his junior year at Bates College as an Environmental Studies major with a minor in Anthropology. Adam is a “local” hailing from Jamaica Plain who has past work experience with Mass Audobon as a youth camp counselor and with the New England Aquarium as a Teen Educator.
Allegra DeNooyer
Programs Intern
Allegra is a rising senior at Vassar College majoring in Urban Studies and French. She has experience working with The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, leading fundraising efforts with Nobody Leaves Mid-Hudson, and some background working in Youth Programs. Allegra is hoping to learn more about Placemaking while she’s here with us at The Conserancy.
Lian Painchaud
Programs Intern
Lian is a rising senior at Lasell College majoring in Event Management with a minor in Law and Business. Lian has worked for many different events-related companies such as Peppers Artful Events, Boston magazine, M&M Elite Events, and Whim Events. She also has some marketing and social media promotion experience through these internships.
Peri D’Amico
Youth Programs Intern
Peri is a rising senior at UMass Amherst majoring in Environmental Science. Previously, she interned for the Massachusetts Public Interest Research Group working on their initiative to convert the campus to 100% renewable energy. She used to live in Chinatown and would enjoy The Greenway as a kid.
Ilya Methot
Creative Engagement Intern
Ilya is a senior at Emerson College majoring in Visual Media Arts. His studies involved finding new ways to take current technologies and using them in useful and creative ways. To broaden his perspective of the world, he visited Switzerland, France, Japan and Spain. In his free time, he likes spending time on The Greenway for a break from this bustling city.
