As we savor the last days of summer and enter into the fall, we will begin to see fruit on our trees and shrubs, showy grasses, and fall foliage. Here are some of our early fall highlights:

As Fall approaches, weather hardy blooms persist in the parks. Crapemyrtle, Stonecrop and Anemone are currently flowering on the Greenway.

September, with its cool breeze and warm sunlight is the perfect month to discover some of the more subtle blooms along the Greenway.

Tall herbaceous plants are a great choice for height impact in a garden in place of trees and shrubs. This week a few of our favorite high-rise perennials are bringing color to the Greenway at eye-level!

The Greenway is looking pretty in pink this week as these rose colored blooms flourish in the parks.

Rose’s Birthday

The Greenway Parks were named after Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, who was born and raised in Boston, as a way to honor the many accomplishments of her life. On Friday, July 22 on the Greenway we will celebrate Rose’s birthday – and her legacy.

Bright Lights for Winter Nights 2010

Tomorrow, the Greenway unveils Bright Lights for Winter Nights, a 12-week lighting and art display that will run from December 21st to the spring equinox, March 21st, 2011. Join us Tuesday, December 21st from 4-7 PM for a free celebratory event.

Calling All Foodies!

After a successful 2010 pilot Food Vendor program, the Greenway has issued a call for 2011 season vendors.

Boston Public Market Returns to Dewey Square
