Rose’s Birthday
The Greenway Parks were named after Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, who was born and raised in Boston, as a way to honor the many accomplishments of her life. On Friday, July 22 on the Greenway we will celebrate Rose’s birthday – and her legacy.

A Cocktail on the Greenway
It’s not easy being a garden in the middle of downtown Boston. A garden bed in Dewey Square Park is suffering from deficient soils and poor drainage, and will soon be getting some additional attention from our Green & Grow teens. We’re using the soil and irrigation remediation of this bed as an educational opportunity.

Green & Grow Apprentices Bundle Up for The White Mountains
Our ten teens recently returned from the White Mountains where they had the opportunity to get outside the city – and outside their daily routines and stresses – to explore a different kind of nature.
Volunteer Appreciation
181 individuals devoted over 500 hours of service to the Greenway over the past year. Through 38 separate events, volunteers assisted with horticulture, programs and general office needs. The Greenway drew a diverse group of committed individuals that included young and old, students and corporate teams, residents and commuters.
After the Snow Storm
While most of us enjoyed a snow day at home during Wednesday’s storm, there were many hard at work trying to keep the streets and sidewalks of Boston safe. The Greenway maintenance staff braved the elements to make sure our park paths were accessible, safe and navigable.
A Big Bright Lights Thank You!
The unveiling of Bright Lights for Winter Nights was a success! The parks came alive with music, light and joy to celebrate the winter solstice. A huge THANK YOU to our sponsors, volunteers and staff for making this evening of winter wonder possible.
Bright Lights for Winter Nights 2010
Tomorrow, the Greenway unveils Bright Lights for Winter Nights, a 12-week lighting and art display that will run from December 21st to the spring equinox, March 21st, 2011. Join us Tuesday, December 21st from 4-7 PM for a free celebratory event.
