The Greenway is at the heart of it all, offering a place to gather, explore, and experience everything that makes Boston vibrant this time of year.

We are excited to share that our two Greenway Beverage Gardens – Boston Harbor Distillery and Night Shift on The Greenway – are now open! Meet up with friends, stop by before a big game, or relax after a day exploring the city with locally crafted cocktails, beer, wine, seltzer, and non-alcoholic beverages served al fresco in the park.

Our Carousel of Curiosity series continues with a free science class hosted by Stone Living Labs. Bring your friends and family to the plaza by the Carousel for a fun experience for all ages.

Join artists Vivian Tran and An Hà in Chin Park to enjoy a collaborative performance and food-based happening orchestrated by artist collective Copenger to celebrate the opening of Tran’s public art commission, because you are the sun; because you are the thread. Tran’s project, because you are the sun; because you are the thread, will be on view in Chin Park on The Greenway beginning May 1, 2026 through December 1, 2026.

Carousel of Curiosity: Plant Mobile with the Massachusetts Horticultural Society

July 20 | 11 AM to 1 PM | Greenway Carousel
Our Carousel of Curiosity series continues with an immersive hands-on plant science experience with the PlantMobile, brought to you by Massachusetts Horticultural Society. Children can discover the hidden relationships of the natural world through flower pollination and the life cycle of plants. Plant seeds, make wildflower seed balls to take home, and discover how bees, butterflies, and other pollinators help our green spaces thrive. Throughout the summer, join us on Wednesdays at the Carousel for more hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration for all ages.

The Greenway becomes an open-air opera house as BLO’s Street Stage returns to the park this summer! Enjoy a memorable summer evening of enchanting arias showcasing fan-favorite repertoire. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to picnic on the grass, or stroll by for a song while enjoying Boston’s vibrant waterfront.

SaturPLAY brings kids and families to Chinatown for activities that spark creativity and play.

Carousel of Curiosity: Rock The Greenway
Presented by the Greenway BID
July 29 | 11 AM to 1 PM | Greenway Carousel
Decorate a rock and let your creativity shine! Join us for this free Carousel of Curiosity activity and paint a positive message, create a design inspired by The Greenway, or dream up your own colorful masterpiece. Once you’re finished, take your rock home or help us spread positivity on The Greenway to brighten another visitor’s day. All ages are welcome, and all materials will be provided.

Around The Area

Make Your Own Cyanotypes: A Drop-In Program
Hosted by the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University
July 11 | 12 PM to 2 PM | Arnold Arboretum (Lawn in front of Hunnewell Visitor Center)
Stop by the Hunnewell Lawn while supplies last to create beautiful nature-based cyanotype prints. Participants will arrange flowers, leaves, and seeds and expose them in sunlight to create a deep blue print with bright, ghost-white silhouettes. This is a drop-in program so there is no need to register, just stop by and get creative!

STEAM Family Workshops: DIY Playdough
Hosted by Boston Children’s Museum
June 12 and 16 | 1 to 2 PM and 2:30 to 3:30 PM | Boston Children’s Museum
STEAM Family Workshop activities are designed to challenge the whole family with hands-on projects that encourage participants to solve problems, be creative, and collaborate. Check the Museum web calendar for details on specific activities.

Ask a Horticulturist – Bradley Rosaceous Collection
Hosted by the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University
July 26 | 10 AM to 12 PM | Arnold Arboretum Rose Garden
Stop by the Bradley Rosaceous Collection to chat with the Horticulturist who manages the rose garden. Horticulturist Rachel Lawlor will be there from 10:00am to noon, answering questions about caring for roses, the Arboretum’s rosaceous collection, and what it’s like to be a horticulturist here. No registration is required, just stop by!

New exhibit at Boston Children’s Museum: Dream It! Build It!
